Lovely interactive toy to help aid development with colours and sounds and numbers

Bought for my daughter who loves to hammer things she’s obsessed with this toy!

It’s fun, engaging, and helps teach colours, numbers, and shapes with lights and music, making learning enjoyable. My child loves the pounding action, and the popping feature keeps them entertained. The sound and lights are stimulating without being overwhelming. It’s sturdy and well-made, perfect for babies 18 months and older.

We had one if the standard wooden peg toys for my firstborn but couldn’t resist getting this to try when we saw it for my second. It’s so much better and more engaging than I thought it would be!You have the general hammer and peg element for them to bash away at but also have colour or shape learning games you can set todo instead. As each peg is knocked in the side of the truck lights up so has an extra level of engagement to the bashing. The volume is adjustable, which I’m always a fan of, with all pieces a good size for a toddler to hit or use. The truck itself is moveable so they can also just play with it as a normal vehicle. Really good value for money and will be looking to get this for others as a present when their babies get to an age to use it too

This toy is absolutely wonderful. It's excellent quality as expected. The combination of music, lights and pounding is terrific fun for my little niece. She's captivated by it and has lots of fun. It's educational too which is a bonus. It's not a toy that gets boring. We're thrilled.

This is a wonderful toy which feels very well made and robust. So many different activities when you press on the keys. Fun to pound with the hammer, my grandaughter spent ages playing. Teaching, music, fun activities, will keep a child entertained for ages. Highly recommend

The LeapFrog Pound and Pop Truck is a great pound toy for young children and the most educational one I've seen.There are three options on the bus to choose from: colours, numbers and shapes. I love that it includes all of these as it's just the kind of things that are useful for young children to learn. The other button is the volume button which also functions as the on/off switch. Unlike many other toys the quieter volume of the two is actually quite a nice noise level and not too loud.The shapes are easy to pound, whether that be with the hammer included or without, and they pop up randomly so they are never all down at the same time. The unpredictability of this keeps things interesting. On each option there are a few challenges or sounds to listen to which get children interacting and learning from the truck. This might be solving a problem or seeing how fast you can press down each shape etc. I love how there are lights on the side of the truck as this is eye catching for children and it's fun that they are all different colours. There is one time I don't like these lights though . . .The best activity on this toy is the "find the" (shape, number, colour) one. I like that this gets children thinking about what they're seeing but the educational aspect of it is ruined because every time the toy asks "find the circle" for example, it then lights up only the orange light next to the circle. Children are not silly and they'll see this is happening and it'll train them to just press on the shape next to the light whilst taking very little notice of what shape it is. I see children do this all the time at work like when they are learning to recognise numbers. If they are shown to them in order they'll sometimes know the numbers only based on the order, as in they've memorised what the order is and do not have the number recognition. I also see this with shapes, if we use the same shape flash cards some children will only know the shape from the colour it is and not have the actual shape recognition. This is exactly what I see happening with this toy which is such a shame as if the lights didn't light up in this way there'd be so much to learn from this fun and simple toy.Another annoyance I have with the toy is that when pressing on a shape etc. in a kind of free play way it doesn't always tell you what the shape is. It will mention one shape that is pressed and then for the next four or five presses it'll be a random sound effect and then another shape meaning it's hard to get all the shapes said out loud. I wish there was an option to either have it in sound effect and music mode or learning mode. It also joins the big collection of toys that don't have a rectangle on it which really frustrates me. Do you know how hard it is for young children to grasp the difference between a rectangle and a square and it's not helped that toys always have random useless shapes like the gem but don't have the common and useful rectangle shape! I wish toys would prioritise shapes that children are expected to learn young before adding in the more picture like shapes.This is a really nice quality toy and it feels very strong which is just what you want when children have a hammer to hit the toy with! I love the idea of this toy but I am disappointed with the educational aspect of it as it seems to have been ruined by the few things that I mentioned. I would have expected better from a brand such as LeapFrog.
