I take these for general health - heart health, etc. They have the proper ratio of DHA / EPA for all uses - i.e. if you want to take larger doses for potential mental health benefits. I have not noticed any unpleasant aftertaste, even if I burp shortly after taking this with my morning meds. Can I say that these are having a direct and positive impact on my health? No, because I didn't start with a clean slate of blood work and blood pressure readings, then start taking these, maintain the exact same lifestyle for 3 months and then go back for a full medical workup again, but the company seems trustworthy, the label shows all of the information and ingredients that I was looking for, and there is no bad taste or aftertaste.

When my favorite large bottle of omega 3 fish oil was out of stock on Amazon (Sports Research), I bought this brand because it seemed very similar in description...I've since used up 3 bottles and went back to my original brand. Both are packaged in very similar bottles and it's deceptively easy to make a mistake and order this formula when browsing for Sports Research..... For the 3 bottles of Smarter Vitamins that I used up, I noticed nothing different in how I felt compared to Sports Research and the price its very similar...I like to take 2 fish oil capsules per day and I felt fine while taking this. However I'm loyal to the Sports Research brand which I've buying for many years and when it came back in stock, I went back to using it...Just habit. But still I was satisfied with this. It was burp-less as they say but I didn't particularly care for the strawberry flavor...I always wonder if strong fruit odors are covering up strong fish odors...I'd just rather take a fish oil capsule with no addition aromas or flavors...The rating is asking me to judge this formula for pain relief...I left it blank...I don't feel fish oils really relieve pain...maybe for someone else...not for me. I take fish oil to get enough omega 3 fatty acids into my diet.

I have difficulties swallowing large capsules, so for years I've been taking Carlson Labs Elite Omega-3 chewable lemon-flavored fish oil capsules. I liked the product, but last month I read some information about the Smarter Vitamins Omega 3 Fish Oil with strawberry flavor, and it captured my attention. I was not sure whether it would be okay to chew the Smarter Vitamins capsules, so I wrote the company, and Tanya from Customer Support responded promptly. She noted that the product wasn't advertised as a chewable, but the gel shell and the oil itself had some strawberry flavoring, so it should be possible to chew the capsules without being overwhelmed by the fishy taste. She even chewed one to try it! Anyway, I purchased a bottle, and I am very pleased to report that for the past month I have chewed one or two every day with supper. I think they taste great--maybe a bit of fish oil, but mostly of strawberry--and there is no fishy aftertaste. I actually like the taste of the gel and contents. Everyone's taste buds are different, so I can't conclude that everyone who needs to chew a fish oil capsule will love this product, but it's definitely worth a try if you are looking for chewable fish oil capsules.It's hard to compare how I feel with this product versus the Carlson product, but I have to say that I have had a lot more energy in the past month, and the only difference in my diet and supplements has been the switch to the Smarter Vitamins Omega 3 Fish Oil.
