Normally hate self build items but these were a doddle. Very sturdy and look great. Great product at a great price

We have cats... so metal legs are important as all wooden verticals are considered as scratching posts. I also wanted chairs that are solid and I think that these fit those parameters well - the left and right sides are pre-made at the factory and feel quite strong. there are metal tubes under each seat that hold the sides together and to support the wood and the sides of the wooden seat also rest on the factory-made section of the frame that is cut and welded. If you wanted more strength you would need everything to be welded at the factory, which would have been more expensive, not to mention much more awkward to deliver. At this price I consider this to be a really good deal. One final point is that we wanted chairs to match the table we bought to fit into the bay window area, and these do that, continuing the industrial design.
