It's a powerful little cleaner and handy to have around
This little vax is powerful stuff, it really works on small or larger areas. It takes a bit of elbow grease but it's a good little cleaner, and I decided to spread the payments on Amazon which I didn't know was possible. Once the option came up I had to go for it to see how it works, and I've got a couple of months payment left. No extra interest charged. I know it works on some stains such as tea, battery, etc but so far no success in removing dried in hair dye stains.I bought it when I saw my son measuring up a section of carpet to cut ✂️ out on the floor. He said it was too stained and he wanted to replace it and I thought 😱😱 so I suggested a carpet cleaner. Before using it for the first time, I also bought a Rug Doctor Heavy Stain Pre Treatment, squirt that on the stains for 10 mins then fill the Vax spotwash cleaner with the required amount of water and solution and even myself was surprised at how clean it got those stains out, including black ink stains - pen and marker, food and drinks stains and all sorts of gunge he had in his room. I was so happy when I saw the result, it was easy to use and I knew I got my money's worth. It's a handy little cleaner to have, especially if you only want to clean small areas only. For a whole room I'd just hire a carpet cleaner for a few hours, but this is handy to have around the house, especially if one of your kids threaten to cut out a piece of your carpet and underlay. Don't let them do it, buy this instead. It wasn't very heavy to move around the house, and I used it upstairs and down. I bought the large tank product without the pet tools for £149.Key points of note:-: easy to use, not too heavy and portable with carry handle: remove tough stains such as tea, ink etc: the hose has powerful suction for getting into those stains: it's good value for money: spread the payments with no interest charge: larger tank cuts time spend filling at the tap: for heavy stains, first treat with a heavy stain pre treatment first, squirt directly on the stain, leave on for 10-15 mins: can be used on sofas to remove greaseIt comes with a handy little storage base for the hose and storage grips at the back for the cable.I'm still exploring what this handy little cleaner can do, but so far I'm not disappointed. I cannot fault it, it packs a punch!

Good little machine
Easy to use. Cleans ok. Brushes provided are good. Not too loud. Good for small areas otherwise you’d be forever refilling the tank. It could do with a slightly longer pipe as it’s awkward to stand it on the floor and reach the back of the sofa. A bit too heavy to hold whilst doing it too.

Great for small spot-cleans
We have had this for a few weeks now and have used it quite successfully on a few items.First things first, this is very much a cleaner for smaller sized areas and is not a substitute for one one of the bigger carpet cleaners.I've used it on the rubber backed rug/mat that sits just inside our porch, best described as a slightly larger door mat. It performed very well and by the time i'd given it a couple of going over with the machine, I had full colour restored. We are a family of 3 adults and 2 dogs, this mat is the first line in defense when entering the house and takes the brunt of the bad weather that you bring in on your shoes. I did have to do the mat twice, but that's more likely down to me being conservative with the amount of solution I sprayed out rather than anything to do with the machine. The next area I tackled was a living room rug which is various shades of grays and light blues, and is almost white in places. This is where the dogs like to scratch their back and is dead centre of the room, so it takes a bit of a pounding traffic wise. It's a much larger rug and had more pile than the porch mat. Again, it took a couple of full tanks to get the rug looking almost like new again but I was impressed and somewhat embarrassed at how much dirt lay within the rug. We do hoover most days but the pile in the rug certainly hides a lot of dust and dirtThe machine worked so well on the small spot test I did I had no option than to do the whole rug as it left a very obvious clean spot!*Warning - this section contains reference to a poorly dog*The next test was a beige bedroom carpet, on a morning after a poorly dog had vomited on the carpet during the night. This is exactly what the machine is designed for I feel. The accident happened around 3am so it was a case of mop up the liquidy mess with some towels as best we could, use some hot water and loads of Febreze on it and settle for the machine clean in the morning. The problem with that type of clean-up is all you're really doing is diluting what was deposited on the carpet. Without the means to remove it, then you're effectively only applying a sticking plaster, so to speakThe dog required the vets first thing, it had (best guess) eaten a snail or slug in the garden and this was the cause of the sickness. So, later than I expected I tackled the obvious staining from the night before. The machine cleaned it up no problem, the yellow green mess that was still showing in the carpet was gone entirely after a cleaning session with the Vax. I gave it two goes just for the sake of it but one would have been sufficient. So, the pro's and consPROThe machine is not too heavyHoses flex easily meaning you’re able to get into small tight spots with easeThe suction is strong and you can see the contaminated liquid getting lifted straight awayIt feels 'right' in your hand, the trigger sits at just the right spotCONSThe size of both the output and intake containers are very small (for a big spill you will go through a couple of runs on the output solution, I also had a basin beside me so I could empty the waste water rather than keep going back and forward to the sink) Bigger containers would obviously add to the weight, but it would save you getting up and down as often when you're cleaning a spill. The cost of the cleaning solution I feel is expensive. As an engineer, I do not believe one type of cleaner will have any detrimental effect on the machine over another, so for me I bought a 5L drum of carpet cleaner for a fraction of the cost of the Vax solution and it works perfectly, and smells better than the Vax liquid. For occasional use I'm very happy with the product. I have in the main wooden floors with a few rugs spread around. If I had a home entirely carpeted and was looking for a Vax, then I'd be aiming for a more substantial machine than this, if for nothing else than to save having to refill and empty the machine as often. But for what it's designed to do I’m more than pleased with the results and it also tackles spills with easeOh…I meant to add, the dog is fine and we’ve had no repeats
