Excellent little traveling file box.
My father passed away recently and I had to tend to a lot of my mothers and fathers financial issues and stuff like that.My desk was covered up with tons of documents, etc.. My daughter, a lawyer, suggested this. It was a godsend I was able to travel to see my mom and have all the papers at my fingertips, and kept my business separate. It's been eight months now and I still use it regularly.

I love the size and utility of this file box. I purchased one about a year ago and came back to get a second one. The only thing that would make it better is if it had a clear plastic option.

Is a very sturdy box has good side rails for the hanging folders. Would buy it again.

BEWARE - May be too narrow for hanging files and classification folders
I bought this as a handy place to store about a dozen and a half classification folders that can optionally be put in hanging files. At first sight this box seemed idea; however, the manufacturer made the tolerances a bit too tight. The inside dimensions at the top of the box are wide enough to fit standard hanging files and folders. Unfortunately the sides of the box are not square; they taper inwards very slightly, from the top to the bottom and also from the center to the front and back. That means that in the front third and rear third of the box, it is too narrow at the bottom for standard hanging files to fit. (The hanging files that come with the box are cut about 1/16" narrower than the standard 11 3/4" width for hanging files.) Getting hanging files to fit in the box requires bending them or sitting them at an angle, which drastically reduces the number of files the box can hold. If you're putting in plain manila folders or colored pocket folders, or anything that's less than 11 3/4" wide, this won't bother you. But if you plan on using it for standard hanging files or folders, you may be disappointed. It's a shame because making it even 1/8" wider would have ensured that everything would comfortably fit, even with the tapered sides, and other than the size issue, it seems to be a perfectly functional, sturdy file box.Measure what you plan to put in this box! 11 11/16" wide will fit; 11 3/4" won't.
