Works well - easy to crank
Why did you pick this product vs others?:So Far, So Good. No problems with reeling the hose in or out of the container. Looks OK on the patio.

Helps keep my hose off the ground.
My hose is so long that I kept tripping over it and my wife complained to get it off the ground. She needed to use it in the front and the back yard and this box keeps it neat and tidy. She can now pull it and get the job done and it reels the hose in nicely.

Great quality from manufacturer but item is very light.
The anchor holes at the base of the reel was very small and would not allow for larger anchor hardware to fasten it in place. Otherwise this thing is great. I can fabricate a suitable mount to prevent tipping.

The Best
I am surprised how easy it is to reel in a hardened hose. This is way better than their white hose reel. This has a level wind that evenly distributes the hose in the spool, like a baitcasting reel. I wish they can make a white one in this model.

Well Worth a Few Extra Dollars
I previously owned a hose storage container that was a little less expensive but the hose always had to be pulled fully out of the box to undo the kink. That kink was caused by the hose attachment that was aligned with the reel. This inevitably required a 90 degree turn (and so the kink) to wind the hose. Bad design. This container aligns the connection with the exact direction the hose will travel so, no kink and I always have full water pressure whether the hose is pulled entirely out or not. Add to that the automatic guide that moves the hose across the reel (and itself) as you turn the crank. Theoretically you never have to touch the hose. A heavy duty hose is provided to connect the box to your water supply.I did add one thing..ok, 3 things actually. I added a trio of tent pegs, the type that screw into the ground. They hold the container firmly so it isn't hopping around as you turn the crank (a frequent complaint by owners of these things).Hopefully this all plastic container will hold up for a few years under the Phoenix area sun.

Cheap Junk
This is the cheapest made hose reel I ever had. I reeled a 100' hose and not even 10' in on a 50' hose it jammed. At 100' the hose is almost to the top of the end caps of the reel itself. Once I started to reel the next 50' hose, the hose wound over the end cap and jammed the entire thing up. Trying to unwind the hose was such a struggle. The housing is such cheap plastic that it would just start to collapse on itself. To unwind the hose, you need to use the handle and pull the hose at the same time. It is too flimsy to pull just the hose and if you don't pull the hose while using the handle the drum will just spin. Do not let the drum spin without the hose coming out of the housing. This made it bind up more. Finally got the hose free and unwound the entire amount of hose. That's when I noticed the plastic piece where you attach the hose on the drum is now cracked and leaks water pretty bad. Cheap hard plastic. If it wasn't such a hassle to return product to Amazon this would definitely be going back. I did fix the leak with JB weld. And reeled only the 100' hose on. To get the 100' hose on I had to keep tension on the hose and make sure that it wound perfectly onto the drum. I would not put more than 100' on this. I guess this is what I get for going cheap.

I have several, get yourself one.
Have bought 3 over the last couple years. All are still holding up well despite major Texas heat. I say go for it.
