Transfers well on colour paper

This is thin enough to trace a design onto & then go over it with a sharp point to transfer it into your chosen item (as shown in the picture). I have also used it under a picture I had drawn (so through a layer of paper) and the image still came out well. It is easiest if you cut it down to the size you need, you can also use each bit multiple times so this will probably last me for years and years! I am not sure why some people said it didn't work, if you feel it between your fingers you can feel which side is the white waxy side that needs to go face down, you need to draw on the opposite smoother side. I had one piece of tracing paper in with it, presumably to stop the bottom piece from transferring onto the bag, maybe people have tried that thinking it's carbon paper? I used a skewer to transfer the design so that it would be nice and thin and ready to cover up with paint but it does leave thicker lines if you use something else to draw onto it with. The best bit is that if I make a mistake I can easily rub it off the slate, I found I couldn't do this easily with white pencil or chalk, it just seemed to spread everywhere and I had to wash it off which wasn't great as it damaged the painting I'd done.I bought this as a customer asked me if I could paint some memorial slate tiles for her. I said no problem then when I got to the writing I realised I needed some help as I needed to be able to draw a line or the writing out else when I was painting it out it kept going wonky or smaller as I went along! I tried a variety of white pencils & chalk but couldn't rub them out easily enough afterwards or the lines were too thick. This was perfect for the job!Edit; Just adding a photo as it also works really well on lino. I couldn't write backwards so was able to just trace my writing into the carbon paper, I used a blunt pencil to quickly transfer it backwards on to the lino & now its ready to carve out (so that it will be the wire way around when I print the card). Saved me so much time - FANTASTIC!

I ordered this in order to transfer a calligraphy design onto black paper. For white paper I've been able to use my light panel but the light will not penetrate dark paper. I drafted the design in pencil and used the white transfer paper to put the design onto the black paper, using a sharp 2H pencil, and the result was fantastic - very clear and sharp. After going over it in gold, there were a few places where the white was still visible, but rolling a kneaded eraser over the work once it was dry, these marks disappeared completely, with no damage to the paper or art work. I can see this transfer paper being extremely useful in the studio in all sorts of ways. It was also very good value for money, and came in double quick time too. It is very thin, and difficult to get back into the original packaging so I've transferred it to a clear document pocket.

When I received this carbon paper I thought they had mistakenly sent me tracing paper. Through trial and error I found out how to use it as there isn’t much of an explanation how to use it and what way round it should be . But once I had worked that out , it was just the sort of thing I hoped it would be.
