Actually, the rain does not get in the container. The cover goes over the outside walls. That part of it is great. We placed it on blocks so that it would not leak through the bottom. The only challenge with the delivery box is the bottom. It is fairly weak and needs more support. We actually put a piece of wood in the bottom and raised it on blocks. It has not leaked in over a year.

The diameter of the ring is 10 mm (.39"). The largest shackle diameter for the lock should be 9 mm or 3/8”. Most low to medium security locks will work for this opening, but it's good to have the measurements! Thank you for your question.

Unless you have a plan/method as to how to keep the walls together without wobbling, yes, I think you could have an issue. The four walls attach to each other, and they all attach to the bottom floor plate. Without the floor, the walls could wobble side-to-side, I think. You could try some small metal L-shaped brackets, but that would require some simple drilling on plastic and screws. I hope this helped.
