The Hutch Company Cat Kennels (Tan, Cat Box)

Very pleased. Fast delivery, already built so no fuss. And big enough to fit my two cats in. Our one cat Steve sleeps outside and I wanted him safe throughout the night. Little plastic flap to keep the rain out.It's solid too so very pleased for the price worth every penny. Five stars.

The design is good, it has enough space for a medium-sized cat, even with kittens if need be, and when fitted out with a blanket or a pillow. It took a while for the cats to get used to the flap but it's sturdy plastic and well-attached. It would be a nice feature to have a pin or hook to leave the flap open at times for ventilation. The main issue with this house is that it is not waterproof. The floor is slightly elevated and does not sit on the ground, but the bottom edge gathers water in wet weather and mould builds up in the interior. I had to paint mine with primer sealer and put roofing tape over the top to make sure it is damp-free inside. Then all you have to do is wipe condensation off the walls after a night of use. A very useful structure but requires a fair amount of DIY and extra investment to keep it functional during winter/rainy season.

Good value compared to similar items & It’s a really good size for a cat shelter. I look after a local colony & can tell 3 of them could squeeze in here to snuggle. (If they let eachother)The only negative is the lid doesn’t lift off so it’s going to make cleaning it out & replacing bedding very difficult. Also see in the photo, not a very good job was done with the roof but maybe I just got a bad one.

Perfect size for medium large cat, I added thick padded foil insulation and ample straw. Place behind a wall unter trees and shrubs. It's now a perfect cosy shelty for rainy snowy nights and days for my large feral visitor.

No complaints looks good is sturdy we did give an extra coat of paint, cats live sitting on the top have yet to see them stay inside but worth the money

Not a bad little unit for the price, looks good but lightweight and plywood could have been heavier. Shame there is no access to inside for cleaning. The finish as in picture is poor and as in a previous reviewers comments you are not alone as mine is the same. But will keep.

The quality of the product was poor, and the design would have made it impossible to clean. The roof needs to be hinged, a better grade of ply needs to be used, and it would be better if it had feet to raise it off the floor; as it would soon rot in wet conditions. Sent it back.

Arrived already assembled and is really well made. All I added was a self heating fleece blanket. Big enough for 2-3 cats comfortably. Such a relief to know the strays will be cosy and dry over the winter months. An excellent buy.
