Totally Bamboo Big Dipper Large Salt Cellar with Spoon and Magnetic Swivel Lid, 10 Ounce Storage Box

Product broke within a month of occasional usage - Neither fell down nor took any damage. Split open from the side and salt is not contained any more, it spills from the gap... very poor built quality.

I am in love with this salt holder! I’ve used bamboo swivel boxes before, but Either the lids have always broken off or they were just too small. I’ve also had a marble one which was plainly just too heavy. This one is low and wide, which makes it the perfect size to fit into my drawer. The magnetic spoon is perfect because it just goes on top, and I don’t have to worry about putting one inside the box or loosing it. I highly recommend this!

UPDATE: Within a year, the number and size of the cracks has grown. Salt has leaked from the container for months and enough is enough. Maldon flakes should be sprinkled over food, not countertops. Into the trash this goes.ORIGINAL REVIEW:This bamboo saltbox is *exactly* what I was looking for: lidded so nothing foreign gets in it, maneuverable with one hand while the other is presumably holding a hot pot, and bonus, has its own spoon. Unfortunately—and I know I live in a dry climate but sheesh—the exterior split directly under the pivot hinge thingy in under a month. The interior cup is still perfectly intact so I can safely continue to use it, it just looks a little less than great. Fortunately, I don't think anyone is looking so closely at my kitchen accessories!

These little boxes are great. We wanted to replace some old shakers with something a little different and chose these for simplicity. They hold a good amount, 1 holds our salt, the others has dried red chili flakes. I like the size and how the boxes sit in just a slight (2-3mm) recessed square in the base. This keeps them from sliding around.These are not air-tight, so we opted to keep the black pepper grinder since fresh ground pepper has stronger flavor.These are plenty large enough for whatever spice, herb, or dry garnish (crispy garlic? sunflower seeds? sesame seeds?) you frequently use! Having 1 box with an herb blend and the other with a pepper blend would also work well.

I keep on the counter and it looks so nice and keeps moisture from my salt. love

This salt box is perfect. It's not too big but holds a great amount of salt. We use it next to our stove and it's perfect for cooking. The spoon is handy if your hands are messy but you can also use it as a pinch jar. Would definitely recommend!

Ordered this item twice. Both times product was defective. First time the spoon was wedged into the container so tight it could not be removed, and the screw to hold the lid on had broken out of the wood. Second time, the next day, replacement item arrived with a crack running from lid to bottom, lid fully detached and another crack on the bottom were all visable while product was still in bubble wrap. Avoid this product as quality is absolutely horrific.

SUMMARY: Looks good. Lid, base and spoon may not colour-match. Poor gift presentation. Mine arrived slightly damaged. Large sticky label is a pain to remove. Poor presentation if sending as a gift. Overall not worth 19quid21.DETAILS:Be prepared that the lid, base and spoon might not entirely match for colour shade and grain (they may've been manufactured separately on an assembly line). On mine, the spoon's colour shade is conspicuously different from the rest of the box.The box interior looks nice with a good capacity. Personally I think the interior looks better than the interior, though you'd be covering the interior with salt or pepper.The sticky label is large and spread firmly across the top of the lid and removing it was a pain. You can't use chemicals to remove it for fear of marking the wood. Another reviewer says the same.Mine arrived damaged. The damage is where the little nail goes down into the base to act as the hinge and hold the lid as close down onto the base as possible to make the base as airtight as poss - that nail has split the wood.On arrival only the lid was wrapped in bubblewrap, very loosely and not sealed round the lid. The box base was loose. Lid and base came in a large thick plastic envelope with no interior packaging so the contents were free to move about. This shouldn't have passed the manufacturer Totally Bamboo's quality control. The damage isn't noticeable until you take the bubblewrapped lid off so I'm not surprised Amazon didn't spot it. This would make a nice gift but get it sent to yourself first so you can do quality control and post it (it's light in weight as regards postage cost).

Die Bambus-Salszdose ist ein tolles und schickes Produkt, Der kleine Holzlöffel ist über einen kleinen Magneten auf dem Deckel gesichert und lässt sich auch mit nur einer Hand schnell abnehmen. Der drehbare Deckel sitzt fest genug, um das Salz im Topf zu halten und lässt sic zum Gebrauch auch mit nur einer Hans öffnen. Zwei Dinge finde ich nicht so optimal, die tun dem Produkt aber keinen Nachteil, das aufgeklebte Etikett ließ sich nach der Lieferung nur schwer ablösen und es passt keine ganze Salzpackung auf einmal rein. Aber deswegen bleibt es ein tolles Produkt.

Sehr sauber verarbeitet! Aber unverständlicherweise ist der Artikelpreis innerhalb von 3 Wochen von 17.- Euro auf 28.- Euro gestiegen.

Einfach perfekte Salzdose. Gut hantierbar, der Deckel und der zugehörige Löffel sind sehr gut durch Magnete fixiert. Mit einem kleinen bisschen Übung kann man den Löffel ganz einfach, trotz der fixierenden Magnetkraft entnehmen.

Super tolle Salzbox. Der Löffel hält gut dank Magnet. Sehr praktisch. Benutze ich jeden Tag.
