This is a really lovely lantern and can be made extra special by simply smoothing on one of the enclosed messages. They are easy to place on one of the panels and can be removed or repositioned a couple of times to make them perfect.The candle needs 3AAA batteries which are placed under a hatch in the base, this hatch is held closed by a tiny screw, you will need a very small phillips screwdriver to remove this and access the battery enclosure. I did find that the lid was rather brittle and fragile around the edges, this is why 4 stars instead of 5, the lid does do its job, it’s just fragile so care is needed with it but, that might just be an issue with the one I received.The candle is very pretty once lit, via the switch you can either have it on fully or on flickering which gives a really lovely effect in a darkened space.I am very impressed by this lantern, it’s beautiful!

Bought as a gift for a friend who had lost a family member. It arrived well packaged and I hadn't realised it came with the battery candle - much safer for longer use or overnight. It was well received and I think this is a lovely gift for those who are recently bereaved. I highly recommend.

This arrived very well packaged and is a great size (30.5x15x15cm). It is also well made and sturdy and is a beautiful way to remember a special loved one.  The candle is battery operated, so is very safe to use, and works on a 6-hour timer setting, so goes off automatically, which is brilliant. It comes with three stickers to choose from – Mom, Dad and Loved One. Unfortunately, it's the American spelling of mum, which is a bit of a shame. However, it can equally be used without the sticker and still be just as meaningful. I also like that it can be hung as well as used freestanding.  I think this is a special way to honour the loss of a loved one and to help remember them. Can recommend.

It is beautiful and used this Christmas

This memorial lantern is much sturdier than I expected. It is beautiful, and I appreciate that I can choose the phrase to go on it. The phrases are stickers that you put on yourself. The candle is a nice touch that gives it a whole different look at night. It will be a beautiful reminder of my sister-in-law.

With my age, it is always good to have grieving gifts on hand. Very nice.
