Hi, it isn't noticeably different to any other pyrex bowl I've ever owned so I don't think it is thicker.

Q: Without any rim and sprout, does it make a mess when pouring liquid?

I have had no problem with pouring liquid from this bowl. I use it virtually everyday from making porridge in the microwave to using as a mixing bowl; very useful.

I usually use this bowl for making porridge in the microwave so haven’t used it straight from the fridge. However I do have Pyrex casserole dishes which I do put straight from the fridge into the microwave to reheat stews. I hope this is helpful.

Lovely sized bowl.

Lovely size bowl which is very good at mixing ingredients. The deep sides of the bowl enable you to use an electric mixer without the ingredients flying all over the kitchen.

Good but Grainy

Good-sized bowl for everyday kitchen use. However, the inner surface of the one I received (just a few days ago) is a bit grainy; there are some small hard bumps scattered around, which I can’t get off. I needed a bowl though, so I’ve kept it anyway.
