Supreme Science Selective Rat and Mouse 1.5kg

I’ve been raising rats for many years, and I’ve always been careful about their diet. When I found Supreme Science Selective Rat and Mouse food, I was impressed by the quality and the nutritional value it provides.🔹 Pros:Fantastic ingredients – This food is packed with rich, natural ingredients that provide my rats with a healthy, balanced diet.No added salt or artificial colours Unlike the overly bright, colourful pet foods, which are often packed with unhealthy additives and preservatives, this food is plain and brown, which indicates it’s made with whole ingredients, processed into one consistent nugget that my pets can enjoy.No waste – With other colourful foods, my rats would pick out what they liked and leave a bunch behind. But with this formula, they eat everything, so there’s no waste!I own 4 rats, and this food has worked well for all of them. They seem to love it, and I feel confident knowing it’s nutritionally balanced.Overall, I couldn’t be more pleased with this food. My boys tend to be quite picky eaters and don’t like a lot of the things in other mixes (IE, corn and the little seeds) so a lot of food would go to waste. After trying them with this, they stopped having to dig around for the things they liked. Very solid base food. Highly recommend. It’s a decent size bag. it doesn’t have a particularly strong smell. It will have the nutrients they need for their diet, but I still give them fresh vegetables and other things to mix it up.

I use this as a mix to add the the shunamite rat diet, most people say you should use dog food because it contains the right protein ratio however rats and dogs are two totally different animals and sizes and so when dog food is fortified with vitamins and minerals suitable for dogs these are going to be way to much rats so I use this as it’s formulated especially for rats.

and they seem to be happy and healthy (just look at the attached photo) having this food as their main source of nutritions. I believe value for money is good, what else could you possibly wish for

I can't say it looks or smells appealing to me....and unfortunately my rats seem to agree. They will eat it when they're hungry and I intend to get through this bag but after that I might try another brand. Perhaps my rats are just spoiled - I do make sure they get a wide variety of fresh food, wet kitten food and treats to supplement the lab block.On the plus side, I'm sure it's good for them and they wont be wasting so much by selecting only the bits they like best. Also, it's nice and hard which I'm sure gives their teeth a workout.EDITED TO ADD: Ok, one bag down and they've decided they like it, when they're really hungry. I've bought them a second bag and one ramekin-full lasts my 2 girls about 3 days, (depending on how soft I am and how many extra treats I give them). When I'm out at work all day and they've eaten all their grapes/peas/scrambled egg/kitten food/porridge/whatever, then they eat the rat food. I'm keeping them on it because I think it's good for them and they're not wasting so much.

Have been buying this for a few months. Rats seem to really like it as part of their diet they enjoy eating the nuggets. It's good value for money for a complete diet in a bag (but I like to add mealworms and vegetables and cereal in their diet as well). It's a decent sized bag it lasts me about a month for four rats. It doesn't even smell bad for animal food it smells quite tasty even to me lol. but I haven't eaten any yet. Also I've been into pets at home and typically this same bag is sold for a couple quid more. So if you're a prime member already you can save a bit of money.

Decided to put my rats on a healthier diet as they were used to the mixed rat food with dried banana and sweetcorn I thought my rats would be fussy about this but they seem to like it.

I was buying Beaphar rat food, my rats ate it, but hardly ever cleared a bowl, one of them never seem overally keen on it, it is also pretty expensive for not very much.I decided to try Science selective which has apple and blackcurrant as they are antioxidants have loads of vitamins in. It is also high in polyunsaturated fatty acids and low in both saturated fatty acids and cholesterol. A lot of other rat foods have a lot of sugary ingredients and the extra sugar in a rat’s diet can make them fat and is bad for teeth. Science selective is natural vitamins and ingredients (yes it has salt in it but a small amount) it also doesnt contain animal biproducts - which is a good thing as you never know what yucky fatty left overs were used/or where they came from - also rats in the wild would not have meat constantly if at all!Anyway long and short of it is both my rats LOVE this food!!! Even the little guy who didn't eat much before loves this stuff!! I obviously give a balanced diet with fresh veg etc as well as these nuggets. Having nuggets means the rats get all they need and don't pick out the bits they want only therefore missing out on other things they need - as they are caged animals who cant go off and choose their diets, I feel it is our duty to make sure they get all the goodness possible and these nuggets do just that AND it is a big bag and not that expensive.
