I have a head unit that has an option to connect to iPhone via screen mirroring but cannot connect via cable. Do you think this would work?

1. This product is only compatible with cars equipped with wired carplay, if your car is not equipped with wired carplay function, you will not be able to use this product
2. Applicable to Apple and Android phones (Android phones need to be equipped with wireless Android auto function)
Note: This product cannot directly activate the Carplay function for your car

Thanks for your letter.
Apple has set up Safe Driving for CarPlay, so CarPlay only has some basic apps like phone calls, music, navigation, etc. This product of ours can only convert wired CarPlay to wireless CarPlay, this setting cannot be changed.

Question 3

I have a Huawei P30 with android 9.0 version and my phone connects fine to my Jaguar 2018 to run Android auto. Will this adapter work for me?

Whilst I can't guarantee it, since the carlink is just the cable replacement protocol, the phone should connect as if it was wired. 
Note the connection uses the Apple connection routine for AA. It then runs AA.

I find on odd occasions the connection doesn't complete, especially if you stop, leave, out of WiFi range and lock the car but  return quickly before the electrics shut down. I have a feeling it gets confused.

There is also  a European made AA device which may work better for some.

How much power does it draw in standby mode

Hi. It draws miiliamps so will not drain the battery. However it is quite slow to connect so frustrating when you want to use the nav quickly.  If your using with Android only, get the Motorola round one. (Only android) this connects within 5 secs and is so much better.  I don't use the other one any more as too slow. Hope this helps
