The media could not be loaded.  I got this for my birthday and it's perfect. I was honestly freaked out by the smell of the tips warming up for the first time but it just seems to burn off a protective outer layer of the tips. After watching all the videos on there YouTube about all safety and proper techniques and uses I understood a lot. It is easy to bend the tips but your only just to stamp lightly to the wood. But the great thing is when the wood burner is still hot your able to gently bend the tips back. It also only takes about 5 minutes to heat up properly and during my projects the handle is still durable and not too hot. I added a video of my second project (bee video) and my first project (Mandela photo with paint). I can't wait to do more projects in the near future.

I bought this product because I wanted to try my hand at wood burning, but wasn't sure if I'd like it or just end up burning myself or my house down. I'm totally hooked now, and I'm happy to say that my house and hands are burn-free! 😄 I used the tool for hours and did not wear gloves, but my fingers never got hot. It was a bit awkward to hold since the grip is kind of far from the tip. It just took some getting used to. The tips were nice. Not much to say about those. Although, now I'm curious about brass tips vs wire nibs. 🤔 All the pros seem to be using wire nibs in the videos I've been watching. Give yourself a well sanded test piece and time for practice if you're like me and have never wood burned before. I think some people give negative reviews simply because the wood wasn't smooth enough to burn without catching the grain. The temp was not easy to control because there is no way to control it. But, whatever temperature it got up to was enough to get my project done. I think temp control comes more into play when you want a lower temp for shading, which I only attempted a bit on the sunflower. I DO recommend getting a fume extractor, though, because my eyes were burning by the end, and I did cough for a bit. I also recommend researching what wood works best for pyrography and sanding the wood very well before burning. Parts of my coasters didn't burn as well as it could have because it already had a varnish on it and I didn't quite sand it all off before hand. Now that I know I enjoy it, I am currently looking into spending a little more and getting one that is a little more pen-like and has a temperature setting. All in all, I think it's a wonderful tool for the price and to test the waters with. 👍

This wood burner is hard to use because the wand/handle is too long. Do not have enough control without the heat getting to your fingers. I will be returning it. Good points; heats quickly, has several tips, and shipped promptly. Would recommend for experienced wood burners .

I have never done wood burning in my life! But I started painting on wood slices making ornaments, and wanted to inscribe my name and who to, and the date, on the back of the wood. So I heated up the wood burner (you just plug it in!) and I started writing! It works great!! Just be careful with it and you are fine! It is great fun! I highly recommend it and am so glad I bought one. You will be too!

Somewhat difficult to use at first. Tips come loose easily. Constantly tightening the tips while in use.
