Some like it hot!!
Like many people, I like drinking coffee. I like hot, and iced, coffee, but I prefer the hot version, especially when it's cold outside. I used to put my cup of coffee in the microwave, so that I could return it to that perfect sipping temperature, but that isn't very efficient. Taking the time to go to the closest microwave is less time spent doing whatever it was that you were doing. On top of that, microwaves require a lot of electricity, even if you're just using it briefly to raise the temperature of your coffee back to enjoyable levels, but what other options are there, you might ask. I started using candle warmers a long time ago. They keep coffee warm, and they don't use much electricity, but warm coffee isn't hot coffee.I stumbled upon this Elite Gourmet electric single burner, and had to try it. Will it keep my coffee hot? Will it still be more cost effective than continually reheating coffee in a microwave? Will it be safe enough to use anywhere, or I should say, anywhere with an electrical outlet, and a table, or desk, to put it on?For starters, it definitely keeps my cup of coffee hot. In fact, I only turned the dial up to 2, and my coffee was hot. So hot that I had to turn the dial down to between 1 and 2. For me, that's the sweet spot. With the temperature dial set at 1.5, or one and a half, if maintained my coffee at the perfect temperature, for me. As for the difference in power usage, I will have to return, and update this review in 1-3 months, so please return to this review later to check for that update. I can say that I get a lot more done due to not trekking back and forth to a microwave, and getting more done, whether it's work, hobby, or whatever, is always a good thing. Lastly, is it safe to use everywhere that makes sense? The short answer is......it depends. If you have enough space to place the burner so that it's not close to a wall, or things that can melt, or catch on fire, the answer is yes, but the surface it's setting on needs to be considered too. I used an infrared temperature gun to take intermittent temperature readings under, and around the burner, while keeping the burner setting at 2 for exactly one hour. I discovered that the hottest zone, other than the burner itself, was directly under the burner. So, whatever you're using this burner for, whether it's to keep your coffee hot, or for cooking food, you need to be careful, and make sure that you turn it off if you're going to leave it unattended. Anything that gets hot enough to cook food on, is hot enough to be potentially dangerous, if you're not being careful, and this device gets very hot, very quickly.Anyway, I really like this burner. It works excellent. It's very easy to operate, it's light enough to transport, providing you wait until it's cooled down first, and it doesn't take a lot of space to use on a counter, table, or desk. It's easy to clean, but make sure to unplug it first, especially if you're using a damp cloth, or sponge, and don't use a scratch pad, or any abrasive cleaning pad, especially metal ones, like SOS, or Brillo. Please read the instructions before using it. I even think the burner looks nice. If I had to nitpick, I would like it even better if it had a digital display showing the temperature. While I have a infrared temperature gun, to check the temperature of each of the 1-Max dial settings, it would be nicer to have a digital display, so that you could see the temperature without having to use a separate device. I will say that the temperatures for each dial setting are consistently the same, after multiple different readings. It's a great product, and I'm glad that I bought it. I'm considering purchasing another one, so that I don't have to transport this one to and from places. I'll update this review in a few months, to add how cost effective it is, compared to using a microwave. I hope this review helps.

This is the second Elite Electric Hot Burner I bought after using the first one 3 years
This Elite Gourmet Countertop Electric Hot Burner is my second one. I bought the first in 2021 and then this one in 2024. I like to cook with electrity so this sits right next to my gas stove 😊 For the price you can't beat it and I was obviously a happy buyer having ordered a second one after 3 years. And the reason I re-ordered was basically cosmetic because I used it a lot! I've moved up to a more sophisticated double burner digital stove-top but would have no qualms recommending the Elite Electric Burner. Durable and great value.

This hot plate made my father in laws day. Happy birthday Tom! But wait, does he even use it? Hardly! He still says it’s an absolute unit when making a grilled cheese or something. Easy to clean, looks sleek, but doesn’t help you with math homework or anything like that. It looks more advanced than it should. It’s basically like VHS tape in regards of to how much I really give a poop. Anyways, it heats well. 🇺🇸

Not perfect, but perfect for the price
What do you do when your hotel room doesn't have the functional stovetop that it was supposed to have? You go on Amazon to see if there's a hot plate available to save you from having to eat almost every meal out.I already had a double-burner hot plate from a previous trip when my room didn't have a functional stovetop, but it was at home because it was too big to bring along on the off chance that I'd need it again. So this time I was looking for a smaller, single-burner hot plate, even if it meant that I'd have to be more thoughtful about my cooking. This one is perfect. For a single-burner model, the burner's 6" diameter element is relatively large, big enough to use with even the larger pan I brought. So I can even sear a nice steak. That means this hot plate completely paid for itself the second or third time I made dinner instead of eating out. Between the cast iron burner and the compact, well-built construction, I can bring it with me on any business trip or vacation without worrying about it breaking or taking up too much space. There is one issue I noticed with this model. The maximum setting seems to be approximately equivalent to a mid-range setting on a regular stove burner. That's perfect for everything up to and including searing a steak, but it means cooking pasta or anything that needs to boil is going to go slower than it would on a regular stovetop. And instead of constant heat at whatever setting you set it to, the heating is intermittent with a longer "on" period compared to "off" period at higher temperatures. The intermittent heating isn't ideal and might be a problem if you're cooking something delicate, but it still works well enough most of the time The long boil time, however, is a problem whenever I make something that cooks better at higher temperatures. Despite that, this is still a much better model than any of the other ones I looked at within this price range.

Great item!
I currently have a basement apartment, this is perfect for my small kitchenette! Heats up quickly, only used on 3 setting. Be careful as gets hot, takes a bit to cool down after turning off and unplugging. Good quality item.

Good product.
Why did you pick this product vs others?:My 2 year old Samsung range cooker stopped working when the breaker was turned off to replace a ceiling light fixture and a ceiling fan. When the breaker was turned back on, my stove wasn’t working. It’s going to take 9 days for Samsung to send someone to repair. So, I bought this two in one stove to use in the meantime. It worked well. I just used it to make a pot of chicken soup and boiled some rice at the same time. Good quality, small, but mighty. Easy to use, cooked fast. It did the job well and the price’s also fair.

Just ok
This is just ok. Not great. It takes a long time for it to heat up. It takes a very long time for it to cool. I am keeping it as my stove is not working right now. So it’s better than nothing. I think you can probably find a better one but for the price this will do.
