Amazon Basics Electric Kettle with Glass Carafe for Tea and Coffee, BPA-Free, Fast Boiling, Auto Shut-Off, 1.1 Quarts, 1500W, Glass and Steel

Ordered this last night and it came in today. After washing it, I heated up the initial kettlefull of water and I heard boiling noises less than a minute after turning it on. It heated up really fast. I poured that out and filled it again with the water I intended for two cups of instant coffee and a pot of tea. I let it boil for a bit longer and the anti boil dry feature kicked in and turned it off. The coffee came out good and the water stayed REALLY hot a few minutes later when I got around to brewing the tea. I don't notice the tea cooling any earlier than usual with either the coffee or when I had the tea with lunch around an hour later (I use a tea cozy), so I don't know about the water supposedly cooling too quickly.All in all, it seems to do what it needs to. I got the larger size so I could fill my 40oz tea pot. The half a liter minimum amount might be a little too much for my partner's morning cup of coffee, but I'd rather have something that only needs to be filled once for most of my needs than refill it a few times for a fairly common use case for us.We'll see how this holds up after nigh daily use.

This is one of my favorite items in my home. Quick and easy to use. This is my second time purchasing this kettle since my daughter accidentally broke the first one. Maybe one day I would do a video on my satisfaction but until then, I promise you can take my word for it. I use this in the morning for a quick cup of tea. I put the water in, brush my teeth, and the water is finished by the time my pearly whites are cleaned. For the price, this is a great product (no I am not getting paid to write this review), there were other kettles, but this one is the one I chose (twice). I can sit on my countertop without it burning my counter and the glass doesn't get to hot to the touch.

I've had this for 4 years, 5 months and the only reason I'm looking for a new one is because a power surge hit today. It didn't damage it but I realized that I use this too much to not have a spare on hand. This workhorse gets used at least once a day, usually for my morning tea. We have well water that is extremely hard. Every so often it needs some chemicals to get rid of the lime scale but after a goid few rinses, it's good as new. My only negative is that I have 2 40 oz insulated mugs that I nake tea in and I end up having to boil water twice. There's no need to comparison shop for my backup kettle. This one is THE Winner!

Absolutely love this kettle. I did a lot of research and watched a lot of review videos before purchasing this for the office. It does take a while to heat up (3-5 minutes) - but I knew that based on other reviews. So I turn it on, hit the restroom and it's boiling by the time I return. Holds a lot and works great in the office. Hot tea, instant coffee, oatmeal. Heats oatmeal up enough to not need a microwave. Oh and it looks cool as well with the blue LED lights.

My previous kettle started leaking so I needed a new one. It was 1.2L and it was more than plenty of space for making tea and coffee. I only noticed I needed a little more capacity when cooking bigger meals, but it did the job. 1.7L is a nice upgrade but I didn't realize the spout was plastic. Also I did 1 boil with the full kettle to clean it, and the hard water spots already started appearing. My old kettle would multiple boils before the spots appeared. Other than that, I like that it's glass so I can see exactly how much water I'm filling it with. My previous one was stainless steel but it still had a few plastic pieces for seeing how full the kettle was. I'm going to exchange this kettle with the 1.1L that is also glass but with a steel spout.

I am so pleased with this little kettle that I decided to share my thoughts. We recently moved to a retirement village. This has meant many adjustments. It was a big downsize for us. One thing that I have always had is a hot water dispenser at the kitchen sink. I was not able to have one in my new apartment and I knew I needed an alternative that would meet my needs. I began scrolling through the list of kettles and my eye was caught by the design of this kettle. I liked the size and the fact that I would be able to keep it on my counter without it being so huge that it took up more space than needed. The size is perfect. I love that it is glass and I can see when bubbles begin to form when it is turned on. I drink hot tea every night as I watch TV. This little kettle does the trick. I only have water in the kettle. I have the tea bag in my cup. It brings water to a boil extremely fast and automatically shuts off. I really love that feature. There is no obnoxious noise to deal with. My mother had a whistling tea kettle when I grew up and I hated that noise. Amazon is such a trusted brand and the price is right! You can’t go wrong with this kettle. I have been using it every day for 7 months and there are no signs of it slowing down. I give this a big thumbs up! 👍🏻🥰

Our apartment complex recently demolished our kitchen countertops, dropped them, and installed fake granite . We lost quite a lot of space and functionality. As I'm the only one who drinks hot tea and french press coffee I decided to look for a smaller electric kettle to fit into a tight space. I landed on this one from Amazon basics.I love it. The water heats up fast and one kettle can fill a standard french press or small tea pot. I love the color, looking sharp and clean. The auto shut off let's you know the water is ready, and you can simply wait a few minutes for the water temp to be "off boil" for coffee.Sometimes simple works best and for the price point it's exceptional. I've knocked it into the faux countertop a few times and it's so durable nothing cracked or chipped.So if you make small quantities of hot water a day, this is definitely the kettle for you.

I bought this to replace a plastic water heater, because we now have an abundance of evidence that you should never heat water or food for consumption in plastic. Sigh. Wish I knew that 8 years ago. So now I'm replacing plastic items that go with heat with either metal or glass versions. This is my replacement water heater for tea, and it has worked well so far. I have not had it a long time yet.
