Q: Hi all, do you think a steak (ie 240/340grammes) will fit in one of the "set of 4 standard" thickness-wise? Or the lid wont close properly? Thanks

If the thickness of the steak is over 3cm it would probably still close but not seal around the edges so it wouldn't be air tight. The lids have give in them, but it would affect the performance of the product if the steak was too thick.

Q: Will these keep ham / cheese fresh or does it need to wrapped inside ?

yes, i use them for all cold meats and cheese, bacon etc and nothing needs to be wrapped. They are great in the dishwasher, too! One tip is to cut the use by date from the corner of the packet and place it inside the dish so you remember! Hope this helps!

It really depends on the size of the packaging. Some I can and some I can't so i take a pair of scissors and trim the sides of the packaging so it will fit. Although I haven't been able to do that what everything as some of the packs are too tall in height.

Q: Can you use these in the freezer? Or will they crack from the lower temps?

The back of the tray has a symbol of 3 snowflakes with -40 min on the back. Which suggests that they could be used in the freezer down to minus 40 but it doesn't indicate if that is Fahrenheit or Celsius.
