Q: Can you iron this before applying a decal to it? If so, what setting do you use?

I used my heat press and just quickly ironed it with that before I pressed my vinyl glitter letters on. Even an iron with a low setting would quickly take care of the creases.

Q: Can you paint on the sashes?

With the right paint I suppose that you could. I had someone print on it

Q: I see that is says "total 3 packs" but how many actual sashes does one order come with? If I order quantity wise 1, will I hve enough to do 5 sashes?

This pack did come with three sashes, if you are making five I wouls would order two, three packs one for a sample project, or used the extra one if you make a mistake.

Q: Can you embroider on these

Maybe. I would use interfacing underneath though to make it thicker. You can try. I printed on it. Though it was tough cause the printer was limited in the length of space she could print at a time. So the letters got squished.
