The UBP-X1100ES performs as expected. This is the third multi-region player I've purchased from this Amazon merchant (Bombay) in a ten year period with fast secure shipping each time. What not to like!

Excellent region-free 4K player. Has played everything I've tried so far - CDs, MP3 discs, DVD, Region 2 DVDs, Blu Rays, 4K discs (no Region 2 Blu Rays so far). Fine picture quality. Set-up was a bit complicated; required some work to get the right video resolution. Would prefer if it started CDs automatically, but that's just a quibble. Overall, very satisfied.An update to this review. Finally got some Region B blu rays. It took a while to figure out how to change the region setting, but once I did, it plays the Region B blu rays fine as well.

It is very comfortable to play all region's Blu-ray discs! The sensitivity of Remote Controller is very good.

Pretty good disk player - multiregional and all. My main problem is with the apps - Netflix, Amazon, media server. Looks like the apps are old versions of the same apps on Android OS Sony TV. Netflix: when you scroll the titles, the screen goes black for a second or two on every click - very annoying. The Amazon service sometimes stops or loses sound in the middle of the movie or after pause - also very annoying. And with regard to the media service client, it is just plain unusable... It would be nice if the player allowed for downloading streaming service clients directly from vendors or app store.

Plays anything: UHD and HD Blu-ray, as well as DVD's, regardless of region. The only flaw is that the manual doesn't tell you that the disc tray must be empty to switch the Blu-ray region. Once you know this ut's worry-free use all the way.Now that I've had this product for a while, I'm noticing regular freezes which require unplugging the unit to regain control of it. I hope it's a software issue, and that there will be a fix. NONETHELESS while these annoying freezes keep happening, I CAN'T RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT AT THIS PRICE ANYMORE.

I ordered this Made for USA unit to be used in Singapore, simply because the Singapore market doesn't have the qty large enough to warrant a Singaporean version to be created. I've deliberated for some time because the reviews for its HDR/DOLBY VISION features are not very good, but all Sony players have a drop down track list function to allow direct cueing/playback of the desired track, which in my experience is essential for enjoying optimum CD/SACD sound. All Oppo players, past and current, can't do that, and that's the deal breaker for me. Used as it is here, I noticed that soundstaging is very low, and high frequencies sound a bit truncated at the very top end. On a hunch, I inverted the live and neutral pins at IEC plug feeding into the back of the unit, and that immediately restored the natural sibilance of human voices. Soundstaging is elevated to the height where it should be, and more recessed into the back of the TV. Have to remember that this unit i bought from amazon was intended for the USA market. The ac polarity will always be right when plugged into usa based power grid, but polarity will need to be inverted for use in places where UK/Australia/Asia 220v-230v is the norm. USA users will always be assured that ac polarity will be correct when used in 110v USA based power grid, and will sound optimum.
