By far the best I’ve ever tried
If you are looking for incredible suction, look no further! I have been a Dyson fan for years. At one point I had 3 Dyson vacuums, two cordless and the ball. Nothing compares to this! It’s small compact , lightweight, easy to use and leaves nothing behind. Can’t recommend enough. The one and only slightly downside is the noise level but the power and outcome definitely outweigh it.

But does a job and better on wood and short pile
Not as powerful as the old model. But does a job and better on wood and short pile.

Great value. Miele probably has a customer for life
Of course our vacuum died after the changes in the regulations to vacuums. We also didn't have a lot of money to spend, but wanted to get a holdover to last a few years until we bought something "nicer". After some research, we decided that this entry level Miele should be fine even though it had no pet fur attachments.I cannot say how pleasantly surprised I was. This is a very powerful vacuum. It has rejuvenated our carpets and rugs, and I often run it on a lower setting than the recommended one. Initially, I was wary of buying a vacuum with bags and filters as they are usually a pain to keep in the house. I've always had bagless vacuums as an adult, but the past few months have given me the idea that emptying the canister and cleaning the filters actually was a lot worse for my allergies than I thought. I knew I had some sensitivities, but this winter I've had no "head colds" or sore throats. The bags last a few months (depending on now much and often you vacuum) and are easily ordered through Amazon. It is an additional expense, but not that much considering the extra labour and (if you're like me) suffering. One drawback is that the attachments on this model are very basic. The little dusting tool is useless and the bristles are way too rough to use on some things. The metal tube doesn't telescope which is a shame. The floor tool is decent, if very basic, and the foot operated control is nice and smooth. If cord length is an issue for you, this one doesn't have a long one, but it will reach through a couple of rooms in most houses.Instead of replacing this in a year or two and either handing it off to someone or selling it, we plan to keep it a while. We may even buy the nicer attachments for it. It really is a high quality machine for the price, and provided it continues to perform well and Miele keeps their standards high, I will stick with this brand.Pros:Very strong suctionAdjustable powerGood valueDisposable bags and filters (a former con for me, but this machine converted me)Feels well designed and sturdyThe best vacuum I've used at this price pointCons:Very basic attachmentsWeird storage configuration (you are meant to loop the hose around the machine, take the wand apart...oh, you'll see it if you buy it and probably not bother with it)On top of the basic attachments, the dusting tool is beyond basic to awful

A vacuum cleaner that is lightweight and has good suction
This is a good vacuum cleaner and works well all around our home, both on hard floors and carpeted areas. It has a medium-sized bag capacity of 3.1 litres, and at 5.91 kg it’s an average weight for a cylinder vacuum cleaner. I concur with another review that I saw that the nozzle is powerful - though very noisy when in use. The replacement bags and corresponding dust filters are expensive. Another point to add is to take care with the hatch that covers the dust bag area. The hinge can fail, with repeated use (this has happened to me once before) - so please take care when opening and closing this hatch. The Miele has quite a short reach of 8.45 metres, so you might find you need to change plug sockets reasonably often. The non-telescopic tube can be irritating. Having the extra tools, astride and on the outside is convenient in terms of placing them back in place when you've finished with them - without having to switch the vacuum cleaner off first and open the lid.If you are of a more delicate nature, this “Vacuum cleaner” is lightweight and easily manoeuvrable, however to be a sure, it’s for you, best to check this unit out at a local store to see if it suits you. At the end of the day this is a good cleaner worthy of four stars.

banging hoover for the obsessive type!
If you like me love hoovering then this is the ultimate in this glorious habit. ...the suction is damn fine, you can alter this for delicate objects like bedding and curtains, there are various attachments my favourite being the little round one with the circular brush, excellent for skirting boards, annoying car carpets that need a good buffing to release the little stones and remnants of cream crackers and what ever else children drop on the floor, the meile glides behind me in my obsession like a stealth feline, I hardly know there is a suction monster attached to the hose, my favourite Hoover by far and beleive me I am like a Hoover tramp, I have been through them all....Dyson being my least favourite which is just a colourful status symbol used by the usual untidy types who pretend to like hoovering...my only suggestion would be is to have the Hoover in a lovley green or navy blue....but I guess it's personal preference...would I recommend this Hoover? Hell yes....my cat likes a good hoovering and so does my house, buy this and you won't be disappointed.

Disappointed
I always had a Meile for 2 decades and it was my favourite vacuum cleaner. But, sadly this does not perform quite as well as my previous C5. Doesn’t feel as powerful and sturdy. Unfortunately, mine went back.

Light and easy to use
I always use Miele vacuum cleaners but they are built like a tank and are heavy but last forever.. This lightweight jobbie is perfect for stairs and bedrooms also packing above its weight and at a good price.

Doesn’t work on hard floors
Unfortunately this vacuum cleaner does not work on our wood and tiled floors, we don’t have any carpets. It needs multiple attempts to cover the floor and is inefficient an wastes time.
