I have used 3 of the filters so I feel comfortable telling you not to buy this product. I have an expensive Saeco Exprellia coffee machine. I have been putting water filters in it for 8 years.1. The picture for this item is wrong. It doesn't have the ABC adjustment so that you can change the filter based on your water quality. I bought the product because that picture convinced me that it was the same quality as the name brand filter.2. The charcoal or whatever in the filter shakes around. I haven't seen that before.3. The plastic is hard making it difficult when priming the filter to squeeze the sides and get the bubbles out.4. After the first filter I had pink on the bottom of the water tank. I thought it was mold. It wasn't it was sediment coming out of the filter. I saw it again when I took out the second filter.5. Finally the third filter totally clogged up one day after installing and wouldn't let the water through to make the coffee.Im going to throw away the last one and buy the name brand product

A nearly perfect alternative! My Gaggia requires an Intenza+ filter, and this alternative to mavea appears to be in the ball park. The visible differences are minor: 1-no cute sticker to remind you when to change the filter (but my Gaggia already does that); 2-no multi-lingual instructions for use (how hard can it be to change a filter?!); 3-no soft/hard A-B-C adjustment knob (which makes it an easier install).I have no idea the technical differences - the mavea instructions say that their filter has a silver treatment (as if that is a good thing). All I know is it fits perfectly, appears identical in form and function, and is priced for the quantity discount. These four will last me until next year, when I'll be back for more.Note: the Saeco Intenza is on the right in the photo, in front of the box of four. On the left is the Mavea Intenza filter. You have to look closely at the bottom to note with/without the A-B-C ring (for soft/normal/hard water).

Work great - easy to install and the savings are amazing!!

The product appears similar to the brand name one to be used with my Gaggia Anima Deluxe espresso machine. The price is great...if it were the product shown. The image depicts settings on the filter which are set based upon water hardness. The image shows A, B or C. The product does not have a selection option.There seems to be actual charcoal in the filter: after submerging the filter into water until bubbles stopped, I inserted the filter into the machine and primed the machine. I then ran straight hot water out of the attached wand and black tinted hot water was dispensed. Not sure how "normal" this is as I have not experienced this with previous filters. Kicking myself for not just purchasing the expensive ones made for the machine. Two stars because it fits my machine. It has charcoal in it. Thats the best I can give this product at this time.
