Works as indicated and expected. Haven’t used 5-way but assume it’s also good. This device also keeps backup cam from false warning in reverse with a hitch type bike rack.

Provide conversion from 7 pin barrel connector to 4 and 5 pin flat connects which most add on turn/brake straps require as well as trailers

Would have given 5 stars if some type of lock to keep secure when plugged in to vehicle!

Overall it’s a product that delivers what it promises. If an O-Ring were added, then I could leave it plugged in and not have to remove in rain storms. It allowed water to enter the connecter otherwise. It seems other comparable products are the same.

This does work but the trailer lights remain on even when the truck lights are off. The adaptor is not simply a pass-thru and makes the truck think there is a load keeping the trailer lights on thus potentially draining your battery. This did it on my 2022 Chevy 2500 and a friends 2020 GMC Sierra 2500. Also gives connection errors to the trucks towing software.

When I plugged in a rental trailer a few weeks back, the trailer lights did not work. I was certain there was a problem with the trailer, but I didn't have a tester around to prove it. My wiring adapter (7-way to 4- and 5-way) was getting on in years, so I thought I would give this a try. After plugging this in to the SUV, turns out I had blown a fuse on the SUV. Anyway, this is a quality adapter and the status lights are extra assurance to know in the future if I have another broken circuit.
