Product description Clary Sage is a biennial herb, native to southern Europe. It grows around a metre tall with hairy leaves and small blue or white flowers. The oil has a medium strength initial aroma which some can find overpowering. It has often been described as a woman’s best friend. Many claims have been made that it contains sclareol, a hormone-like compound similar to oestrogen, however scientific evidence for this is shaky. So we would advise treating these claims with caution. Botanical Family: Labiatae Commonly associated with: Calming, Euphoric, Relaxing. An excellent choice of oils to use during menstruation, menopause and labour. Has a lovely feel applied to tired muscles and joints.
